Dr. Silvia Behar Harpaz was previously a lecturer in Physics and Mathematics at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Her main research field during her PhD was High Energy Physics. She was a member of the ATLAS collaboration at CERN, Geneva, during several years and contributed to the search of the Higgs Boson.

Silvia’s current research focusses on implementing mathematical models to evaluate lung cancer screening in Australia and to provide cost-effectiveness results for policy decision-making.

Her research work also includes designing a mathematical model that effectively describes the natural history of lung cancer using the Policy-1 platform.
