The Daffodil Centre

Stephanie Walker is the Project Coordinator for the MAIL, GP and SCALE project which aims to improve bowel cancer screening participation through combining individual, health service and population level interventions. Steph is responsible for the coordination, operation and delivery of the project across five key aims. This includes a better understanding of how Australians are screening for bowel cancer, designing a method for GPs to support the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP) and understanding how existing interventions work best together. Steph is working to collaborate with General Practice on a new intervention design which will be trialed in practices across Australia. This will be one of the few studies in Australia to take an implementation science approach to increasing bowel cancer screening participation.

Steph has a master degree in public health with a background within primary care, cancer screening, prevention and management. Steph has previously held roles at the Cancer Institute NSW and Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network. Her expertise lies in health service design, management of projects to improve cancer outcomes and stakeholder collaboration.
