Dr Tong Li is a Cancer Institute NSW Early Career Fellow at The Daffodil Centre. Her research began in breast imaging and had since transitioned to population health and real-world breast screening studies, with a strong focus on health equity and understudied populations. Her career aspiration is to become a world-leading breast cancer researcher, with dedicated and in-depth expertise in cancer screening, population health, and breast imaging, ensuring the optimisation of early detection of breast cancer through high-quality, policy-relevant evidence. She leverages a strong foundation of research excellence, established research partnerships, growing leadership, and a robust commitment to breast cancer screening research to improve cancer outcomes for all women, including understudied and underserved populations such as women from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
Dr Li has authored 60+ peer-reviewed publications across nine disciplines. Of these, over 60% are published in SJR Q1 journals such as JAMA Oncology, British Journal of Cancer, and European Journal of Radiology.
