Dr Caroline Watts

Position:

Senior Research Fellow

Dr Caroline Watts (PhD, MPH, BA[Hons]) is a health economist who holds a Senior Research Fellow position at the Daffodil Centre. She is interested in the health economics of skin cancer screening, and the diagnosis and management of skin cancer. Her PhD provided the first evidence that it was cost-effective to manage individuals at very high risk of melanoma using total body photography and sequential dermoscopy imaging of suspicious lesions compared to usual care. This research has underpinned changes to melanoma management guidelines. Other research interests include cancer epidemiology and how strategies to improve melanoma management can be translated into practice and policy.
