Since completing treatment for breast cancer in 2013, Kathryn has been an active consumer partner working with numerous researchers across many institutions. In addition to the Daffodil Centre, Kathryn is on the Consumer Advisory Panel for Maradulu Budyari Gumal (SPHERE) Cancer CAG at UNSW and a Member of Cancer Voices. She is also on the Consumer Review Panels for Cancer Council NSW, Cancer Australia, National Breast Cancer Foundation, Cancer Institute and MRFF.
Kathryn presents at workshops for researchers and consumers on how to work together. She wants to make sure that no person has to endure what she experienced with her cancer diagnosis and treatment. By helping researchers understand their research from the patient’s perspective, Kathryn aims to ensure that their research is relevant and appropriate to meet her needs.
