Stream(s) of work:

Dr Sabrina Wang (PhD, MPH, BPharm) is a Research Fellow with expertise in epidemiological research and analytical methods. Her prior role was based at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), World Health Organization, where she analysed large-scale cohort datasets such as the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) study and the UK Biobank. Her work at IARC applied advanced epidemiological techniques, including mediation analysis and Mendelian randomisation, to investigate the biological pathways linking obesity to endometrial cancer risk. Her current work at the Daffodil Centre focuses on understanding how knowledge of personal genomic risk for melanoma influences skin cancer prevention and early detection behaviours. Specifically, she employs mediation analysis to examine potential behavioural mediators, including individuals’ perceptions of disease severity and personal susceptibility, as well as beliefs about the efficacy of, and barriers to, engaging in preventive activities.
