Research teams
The Daffodil Centre is a leading research centre on cancer control and policy – providing timely and relevant evidence to national and international policy-makers to inform best-practice decision-making in cancer control. We are focused on reducing the incidence, morbidity and mortality associated with cancer and on improving the quality of life of people with a cancer diagnosis.
Working across four research hubs are several collaborative research teams.
Breast Cancer Clinical and Population Health
Our research encompasses clinical and population health studies and aims to provide new evidence to guide policy and practice in breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and prognostication.
Breast Cancer Policy and Evaluation
This stream of work is building evidence on the benefits, potential harms and costs of different approaches to optimise early detection and treatment of breast cancer and ultimately save more lives.
Gastrointestinal Cancers Policy and Evaluation
We are developing a multi-stage program to address gastrointestinal cancer control challenges in Australia.
Genomics and Precision Health
We integrate individual and population-level genomic, health, and demographic information for successful precision health.
Health Economics
We find innovative ways to organise and deliver cancer services, while ensuring equitable health outcomes and patient centred care.
Lung Cancer Policy and Evaluation
We provide evidence for improving and sustaining tobacco control, and optimising and implementing lung cancer screening.
Melanoma and Skin Cancer
We work across the skin cancer control continuum including aetiology, prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
Ovarian Cancer
We are leading research to help inform policy and improve healthcare for people with, and at risk of developing, ovarian cancer.
Prostate Cancer
We are investigating questions related to all aspects of prostate cancer detection and patient care.
Research Methods
We provide analytical, methodological, statistical and systematic literature review expertise across the Daffodil Centre’s four research hubs.
Research Operations and Support
We provide operational and strategic support to optimise day-to-day running of the Centre.
Supportive Care and Patient Outcomes
We aim to improve the quality of life of people living with cancer, cancer survivors, and their loved ones.
Tobacco Behaviour Change and Implementation
We are developing and testing interventions to help people who smoke to quit, and for non smokers to remain non smokers.
Triple I (Innovation-Implementation-Impact)
We produce evidence supporting implementation of innovations to positively impact cancer control and care.
