Denise Campbell works as a Project Manager – Systematic Reviewer in the Cervical Cancer and HPV stream. Denise has completed a Master of Public Health and a PhD at the School of Public Health, the University of Sydney and worked for a number of years as a project manager in the guideline development space (kidney disease guidelines).
At the end of 2019, Denise commenced working with Cancer Council NSW as a systematic reviewer and contributed to scoping and systematic reviews across multiple cancers. Topics covered include breast cancer risk assessment tools and their ability to stratify women into different risk groups, use of the PSA test in prostate cancer screening, liver cancer surveillance, colorectal cancer screening, the effect of a cancer diagnosis on COVID infection and prognosis, and treatments for cervical cancer. These reviews have been used to inform modelling, and national and international clinical practice guidelines.
Her current role involves performing systematic reviews, with a focus on reviews to inform the development of evidence-based Australian Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Cervical Cancer
