Jay Balante is a registered nurse with clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, primary health care, medical oncology, and palliative care nursing. Jay is currently undertaking his Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Sydney. His PhD research aims to explore and understand the cultural attitudes and practices of internationally educated nurses working in cancer and end-of-life care. He is one of the recipients of the Daffodil Centre Postgraduate Research Scholarship. Jay’s research interests are in the fields of oncology and palliative nursing care, transcultural care, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) nursing workforce, and international health. Jay is working as a lecturer at the Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery, teaching in the pre-registration nursing programs.
