Suzanne Hughes manages, designs and conducts scoping and systematic reviews to provide high quality objective evidence to underpin clinical practice, government policy and modelling. Since 2007 she has reviewed a wide range of topics including breast and prostate imaging, the diagnostic accuracy of prostate cancer tests, liver cancer surveillance, colorectal cancer screening, breast cancer screening, the effect of a cancer diagnosis on COVID infection and prognosis, psychosocial interventions for prostate cancer, and treatments for prostate cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer and cervical cancer. Several of these reviews were the evidence bases for PSA testing guidelines, liver cancer surveillance guidelines, colorectal cancer screening guidelines, clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer and guidelines to support the National Cervical Screening Program. She is currently working on reviews for the update of the PSA testing guidelines. Suzanne also supports the systematic review team members and other researchers by providing advice on systematic review methods and strategies.
