Dr Kate (Anderson) Dunlop is a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in implementation science and qualitative research methods. Her PhD thesis was titled: Implementation research on risk-stratified cancer screening in Australia. Risk-stratified screening provides tailored, personalised cancer screening for the individual rather than the mostly ‘one-size-fits-all’ programs designed for the average person. Kate’s research focused on key stakeholders’ perspectives on the acceptability and feasibility of this approach across different cancer types as well as deeper dives into melanoma and lung cancer. Kate was previously the Director of the NSW Health Centre for Genetics Education and prior to that at the Cancer Council NSW developing education programs. Her research interests include cancer screening, personal genomic risk information, genomics education and the challenges in their implementation.
