Dr Md Mijanur Rahman is a trained biostatistician and public health researcher. His research specialty is statistical modelling using longitudinal and linked health records to answer comparative effectiveness questions, identify risk factors, health patterns and trajectories within population, and providing solutions that can scale up the health and wellbeing of entire communities.
Within the Daffodil Centre, Dr Rahman’s primary research focus is cancer epidemiology and health service research, with particular focus on disparities in survival outcomes of cancer patients, social determinants of health and health outcomes, health trajectories, patterns of care and health research use. He has strong interest in development and applications of statistical methodology for the analysis of multivariate event history data. Specifically, applications of multistate models to predict disease or disability progression (e.g., cancer stage progression) over time, identifying the risk factors, and evaluating the effectiveness of treatment options for cancer patients.
Dr Rahman completed his PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from the University of Newcastle in 2020, following completion of a Master of Science in Gerontology from the University of Southampton in 2014 and a Master of Science in Statistics from the University of Rajshahi, Bangaldesh.
