Associate Professor Megan Smith is a Principal Research Fellow in the Cervical Cancer and HPV Stream. Her research focuses on modelled policy evaluations of cervical cancer prevention, including the role of new technologies, and descriptive analyses of large datasets relating to HPV-related disease and prevention. She is particularly interested in optimising and successfully implementing cervical cancer prevention, at the population level and in different population subgroups, considering efficiency, equity, and communications.

Megan has worked with policymakers and screening program managers in multiple countries and contributed to many reports to government, including several evaluations that have directly informed policy in Australia, New Zealand, and England, and is a member of multiple national or state-level committees/ advisory groups related to cervical cancer prevention.
